Spare the air.

Washing clothes in cold water reduces 75% of our washer's energy use and saves 500 lbs. of CO2 emissions/year. Clothes will last longer if you dry them on the line. You'll also save energy and a massive 1,386 lbs. of CO2 emissions/year.



For Earth Day (which I forgot about until Friend Leeza reminded me at 5 p.m.) we accidentally participated in the holiday by bicycling into downtown Berkeley, buying organic leeks, taters, and asparagus from Riverdog Farms at the farmers' market, wandering through the frightening Berkeley Earth Day Festival, and not participating in the culture of consumerism by checking out DVDs, books, and books on CD (which will be transferred to the iPod for bike commuting, yes!) at the old lie-berry.

But then we went to B-Side Records and Dan bought some slammin singles, which defeats the consumerism vibe. But hey, Bhangra vs. Hip-Hop comps on vinyl are hard to beat! As is rhubarb strawberry tart from Sweet Adeline Bakery on the way home--a necessary pit stop, I dare say.
